1. Introduction

Gili Software OPC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates RaceKit (racekit.org), a free web platform that aggregates publicly available running-event information. Protecting your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your information.

By using RaceKit, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use RaceKit.

2. Information We Collect

RaceKit does not require you to register for an account, nor do we collect any personal data such as names, email addresses, or payment information. However, to monitor site performance and improve user experience, we use Google Analytics to collect the following types of non-identifiable information:

Device & Browser Information:

  • IP address (collected in an anonymized form)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device model

Usage Data:

  • Pages you visit on RaceKit
  • Time spent on each page (timestamps)
  • Referring website or search terms that brought you to RaceKit
  • Clickstream data (which links or buttons you click)

Cookie & Tracking Data:

Google Analytics stores cookies on your device to distinguish users, count sessions, and track usage patterns. No personal identifiers (name, email) are stored.

All data collected through Google Analytics is aggregated and anonymized; we do not use it to identify you personally.

3. How We Use Information

We use the anonymous, aggregated data collected via Google Analytics for the following purposes:

Site Performance & Maintenance:

  • Monitor and analyze trends in site usage (e.g., which pages are most popular).
  • Identify technical issues, errors, or bottlenecks and fix them promptly.
  • Ensure RaceKit loads quickly and reliably for all visitors.

User Experience Improvement:

  • Understand how visitors navigate RaceKit, which features they use most, and where they might get stuck.
  • Prioritize new features or layout changes based on actual usage patterns.

Anonymized Reporting & Insights:

  • Generate internal reports summarizing general traffic trends (e.g., number of monthly visitors, peak usage times).

Make data-driven decisions to enhance RaceKit’s content and functionality.

At no point do we attempt to link Google Analytics data to personally identifiable information (PII). All reporting is based on aggregate trends only.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) by websites you visit. They help websites recognize your device and remember your preferences.

How We Use Cookies & Similar Technologies:

  • Google Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics cookies (e.g., _ga, _gid, _gat) to collect usage data as described above. These cookies expire after a set period (usually between 24 hours and 2 years).
  • Performance & Functionality Cookies: In the future, if we add new features (e.g., newsletter sign-up), we may introduce additional cookies to store your preferences. We will update this policy accordingly.

Most browsers allow you to control or delete cookies via their settings. If you prefer not to have tracking cookies placed on your device, you can:

Third-Party Service Providers:

We rely on Google Analytics (a service of Google LLC) to process usage data. Google Analytics aggregates and anonymizes the data before providing it to us. Legal Requirements & Safety:

We will disclose information if required by law (e.g., in response to a subpoena or court order), to investigate potential wrongdoing, or to protect our rights, property, or public safety.

No Sale of Personal Data:

RaceKit does not sell or rent personal data to third parties. Because we do not collect PII, there is no personal data to sell or share in the first place.

6. Data Security

Although we collect only anonymized, aggregated data, we still take reasonable measures to protect that information:

  • We use secure HTTPS (TLS/SSL) encryption for all traffic between your browser and RaceKit.
  • Access to our Google Analytics account is restricted to authorized personnel at Gili Software OPC.
  • We regularly review our security practices and promptly apply any updates or patches to our infrastructure.

However, no method of data transmission or storage over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

RaceKit is intended for users aged 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected data about a child under 13, please contact us (see Section 11) so that we can delete the information.

8. Third-Party Links

RaceKit may include links to third-party websites (for example, embedded Google Maps to display event locations). We do not control those sites or their privacy practices. If you click a third-party link, you will be subject to that site’s terms and policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

9. International Transfers

If you reside outside the Philippines, please note that your anonymized usage data (collected by Google Analytics) is transferred to and processed in servers located in various countries (including the United States). By using RaceKit, you consent to this cross-border transfer.

10. Your Choices

Opting Out of Google Analytics Tracking:

You may prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Cookie Management:

You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. However, blocking cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of RaceKit.

Changes or Deletion of Information:

Because we collect only aggregated, non-identifiable data and do not maintain personal profiles, we do not hold “records” of your personal data to modify or delete. If you believe we have collected any personal data about you in error, please contact us to request an investigation and deletion of that information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the revised version at racekit.org/privacy a nd update the “Last updated” date at the top. By continuing to use RaceKit after those changes go into effect, you agree to the revised Privacy Policy.
